We were privileged to have had a Share Your Faith Workshop on September 10th and have also started our on-the-job training (OJT) for Everyday Evangelism. We have had two OJT sessions so far this month and they will continue for a total of seven weeks.

Below is a list of some of the progress for the month:

  • 87– contacts
  • 13– Discipleship
  • 25 – shared the gospel outside the four walls of the Church building
  • 3 – professions of faith
  • 2 – baptisms

We had two professions of faith this month. One was a 63-year-old man and one was an 18-year-old young lady. The young lady indicated that she had never attended church much, maybe a time or two. The older man had been in church some, but never really understood that he was not a part of his salvation. He finally came to the realization as we talked that it was all about what Christ had done for him and his acceptance of that and not what he did or could do. It was like a light bulb came on.

We also had two baptisms. One was a young lady and one was a young boy. They were excited to be baptized outside in a cattle water trough. Some of the men in our church repaired the stairs in the permanent baptistery more recently. So, the next time hopefully, we should be able to baptize indoors.

Bro Phil Knott (BMAA Director of Foreign Missions), Eric Johnson, Chris, Ishar and I met early in the month to discuss the possibility of making some contacts with Bro Ishar’s friend in Bangladesh. We are trying to see what might develop pertaining to some foreign mission work in that country. Please pray about this matter. Also, Chris is building a relationship with a young man from Africa which we pray will develop into another mission field. The mission field is all around us, both local and foreign.

Chris and I have been blessed to be able to participate in training some folks in Every Day Evangelism in Oklahoma City. One of the churches is large and the other is predominately black. It thrills me to see that evangelism is a priority in these churches. Chris is also continuing Guitar with a Purpose and is now teaching two groups during the week, a predominately older group meets at the church building and a younger group meets at Irving Recreational Center after school.

It’s with some sadness that I report that our financial support for planting New Generation Baptist Church is being cut by the BMA of Oklahoma. They have faithfully supported us for many years and for that we say thank you. At the present time, we plan to continue our work in Norman unless the Lord closes this door all together. However, if the Lord moves you, we would appreciate any support that you or your individual churches maybe able to provide.
