Godly Servant Now Home with her Lord

Bernice Dora Ayres of Elmore city, Oklahoma was born to Thomas Oyama and Dorietta (Bratcher) Horn on March 20, 1938 in Vera, TX and passed from this life on September 21, 2016 at her home at the age of 78 years.

Bernice grew up and attended school in Morenci, AZ and attended college at Durant and USAO in Chickasha, OK.  She obtained a Bachelors Degrees in Education, Art and English.  On September 8, 1956, Bernice married Bobby Ayres in Lordsburg, NM.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Alex, OK.  In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, painting, photography, and sewing.  She was always giving to others, including sharing food and faith. 

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Bobby, of the home, her son Thomas Ayres and wife Michelle of Longview, TX, tow daughters, Patricia Podhajski and husband Joe of Midwest City, OK and Karen Itzela and husband Bill of Baltimore, MD.  Two step-daughters, Barbara Lason of Clifton, AZ, and Shirley Stewart and husband Mike of Pason, AZ.  She is also survived by three brothers, Robert Horn of Florida, David Horn and wife Joyce of Tucson, AZ and Donald Horn of Safford, AZ.  Grandchildren Caroline, Rebekah, and Nathaniel Ayres, Dalton Frye, Anastacia Ayres, Jessica, Ryan, Shannon, and Siri Itzel, Michelle, tony, Kevin, Ricky Stewart, Debra Rodriguez, Rosalie Estrada, Monica Pena, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildre.

Mrs. Ayres was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Oyama and Dorietta Horn, one daughter, Tammy Ayres, one brother, Tommy Horn, and one sister, Brenda Lemons.

Memorial services held 2:00pm, Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Satterwhite Missionary Baptist Church and 10:00am, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the First Baptist Church n Alex, OK.  Arrangements are under the direcction of Wooster Funeral Home.  You may send a condolence tht eh family at www.wosterfuneralhomes.com
